KONE lifts carbon fiber traction technology again

In May 2018, KONE won the bid for the Chicago Central Business District project and will provide elevator equipment for a 54-story building named 110 North Wacker Drive in the area.

The 110 North Wacker Drive Tower is about 244 meters high and has a building area of 149,000 square meters. KONE will provide 30 elevators for this project, including 24 elevators with a maximum operating speed of 8m/s, and 4 energy-saving machine rooms. Elevator and 2 service lifts. The two service elevators are innovative products with a maximum load of 3600kg and an operating speed of 6m/s. They will be equipped with KONE UltraRopeTM carbon fiber traction technology.

The significance of this project to KONE is that it is the first project of KONE's revolutionary UltraRopeTM carbon fiber elevator traction technology in North America, and is another global physical case of KONE UltraRopeTM carbon fiber traction technology after Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. .

It is reported that the elevator installation of this project is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2019.
